When Staying Hurts and Leaving Feels Impossible
There's a particular kind of pain that lives in the in-between. You know the relationship is costing you peace, but leaving feels like it will cost you everything else. I lived there for months after my own marriage ended — praying, journaling, asking God for a clear sign.
What I learned is that God often doesn't give us the exit strategy first. He gives us the strength for today. The holy pause is not punishment; it's preparation. In that space, He rebuilds your identity so you don't walk out as the same woman who walked in.
Three things that helped me: 1) Name what is true without drama. 2) Set one non-negotiable boundary this week. 3) Let your prayers be honest, not polished. Healing is not about going back — it's about becoming.
